TT Poll #199: Rocket League

It’s that time of the week again folks. Don’t forget to cast your votes! #TT199

Developed by Psyonix, Rocket League is a vehicular sports video game that up to four players can play together online or in couch co-op multiplayer. Each player controls a rocket-powered car on one of two teams, with both teams trying to score points by hitting a ball into the opposing team’s goal during the course of a match.

Rocket League is a sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Cars, a game Psyonix released for PlayStation 3 in 2008 that was not highly successful. Listening to fan input and addressing criticisms of Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Cars, Psyonix was able to refine and improve the gameplay to earn critical praise for Rocket League’s gameplay!

With improved gameplay, increased social media marketing compared to its predecessor and the ability for PlayStation Plus subscribers to download the game for free upon launch, Rocket League was the most downloaded title from the PlayStation Store in 2016. By the end of September 2018, over 10 million copies of Rocket League had been sold and a base of over 50 million registered players was established. Rocket League has won many has even been adopted as an escort participated in by professional players!

And so, for today's 199th Temptation Thursdays poll, we shall focus on the cars controlled by players in Rocket League.
