Formerly known as the revered Shiranui, master of all Celestial Brush techniques, she reincarnates a century later as the weakened Amaterasu after being defeated by the looming threat of Nippon, Orochi.

Accompanying Amaterasu in her journeys is Issun, a vein and flirty Poncle from the village of Ponc’tan. Similar to what his grandfather, Ishaku, did for Shiranui, the traveling artist guides and aids Amaterasu all throughout her pursuit. Together, they overcome challenges to try and regain the Celestial goddess’s former powers to once again attempt to subdue the very foe that once bested her one hundred years back.
