Metal Sonic is aggressive and very cold hearted. He views himself as superior to others and wishes to rule over them. He is also completely obsessed with the idea that he is the better Sonic. He can achieve 4 times the accelerating speed of Sonic when his circuits are overloaded. When the energy overloads the circuitry, blue-white sparks spout from Metal Sonic. The reaction is called "V. Maximum Overdrive Attack" and its power can penetrate any substance. However, the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack cannot be sustained because of its unfavorable cost performance and potential to destroy Metal Sonic himself.

Dark Link appears as the mini-boss of the Water Temple, appearing as Link's shadow in a strange, illusionary room. His voice is the same as Link's, but much lower in tone giving it a demonic feel. He can use some of Link's sword attacks and is considered to be one of the most difficult enemies to defeat in the game. At the beginning of the battle, Dark Link is nearly transparent. As the battle continues, Dark Link will gradually become opaque as the battle progresses. When Link defeats Dark Link, the illusionary tree and pond disappear from the room and the door forward opens.

Darunia is the leader of the Goron race and resides in Goron City. Despite his stern appearance, he loves music and dance and cares deeply about his people. When Link first meets Darunia, he is upset because the cavern containing the Goron food source is overrun by Dodongos and sealed off by Ganondorf as punishment for refusing to turn over the Goron Ruby. This starts a journey for Link which later makes him a "Sworn Brother" of Darunia.
